Deadline: October 2nd, 2016
Public Art, Displayed in a Quintessential Los Angeles Medium
From their call: The Billboard Creative (TBC) is a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that takes over unused billboards with the help of partner institutions, and transforms LA billboards into public art displays. Open to all disciplines, TBC accepts artworks through a democratic submission process — if you can send your artwork as a digital file, we can make it into a billboard. Each exhibition is specially curated; this year’s 2016 exhibition will be curated by LA photographer, Mona Kuhn.
Los Angeles has a rich history of using billboards for art – from iconic twentieth-century fine artists, to contemporary street artists, the billboard has been the perfect medium to engage the public with breathtakingly large-scale displays of artwork, set dramatically against the LA skyline.

About: The Billboard Creative (TBC) is a non-profit organization that aims to connect artists with mass audiences. In highlighting an international selection of artists and artworks within the Los Angeles community, TBC hopes to broaden the reach of public art, especially for those whom traditional art exhibitions have proven inaccessible. Above all, the core principle is to create a democratic approach to contemporary art.
