The Central Coast Printmakers, an affiliate of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, announces their national call for artists for “Pressing Matters: Printmaking and Artists’ Books.”
Juror: Archana Horsting is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of KALA Art Institute and Gallery in Berkeley, California.
Eligibility: Open to all artists who reside in California, Oregon or Washington. This call for entry is an opportunity to exhibit in two divisions: Printmaking and/or Artists’ Books. Any accepted entry that differs from the submitted image, or is unfit for display when delivered, will be excluded. Entry fee.
Submission Requirements: All entries must be either hand-pulled prints or artists’ books using predominately traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraphy, etching,woodcut, lithography,linocut,drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element. Artworks that are solely monotype, computer generated or digitally altered photographs or photographic reproductions will not be accepted. All artwork must be presented professionally and ready for display.
Awards: Central Coast Printmakers are pleased to award a total of $1,500 in cash prizes. Both divisions will receive a Juror’sAward of $500 and two Honorable MentionAwards of $125 will be selected.
